Sefer Yesod
Jewish laws, halachic rulings and customs for the entire year by the Maharil, Rabbi Yaakov Segal Moelin. The sefer includes the customs of the Maharil’s Rabbi, Rabbi Shalom of Neustadt.
This is a very rare copy printed entirely on blue paper.

Rabbi Yaakov Segal Moelin (d. 1427), known as the Maharil, is acclaimed as ‘the father of Ashkenazic customs, ’ and his sefer is regarded as a fundamental halachic masterpiece. He is best known for his codification of the customs of Ashkenazic Jews, and his writings were one of the prime influences on the Rema’s rulings in the Shulchan Aruch. All Ashkenazic Jews deriving from Polish and German roots, ascribe to and follow his customs.
The Maharil studied under the great Ashkenazic sages Rabbi Shalom of Neudstadt and Rabbi Avraham Klausner, and all Gedolim in the ensuing generation regarded themselves as his students and drew from his wellsprings of Torah wisdom.
