Mystery of Maamados

The Order of Maamados, which is based on a gemara in Taanis 26a, presents an annual schedule for Torah readings throughout the week, as well as special readings of Tanach, Mishnah, and Gemara.

The identity of the one who compiled Maamados remains a mystery until this day, as the Yaabetz writes in his siddur: “I do not know who he is; I have searched and scoured the Poskim and sefarim, but I have discovered neither his identity nor name.”
