Letter of Recommendation from Rabbi Gedaliah Tiktin, Av Beis Din of Breslau, Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Leib Fedder
A handwritten and signed letter of recommendation dated 1873 from Rabbi Gedaliah Tiktin, Av Beis Din of Breslau, regarding a scholar from the Lipziger kloiz in Breslau.
In it he writes that the scholar is well-known to him and worthy of serving in the rabbinate.
Also included on the same page are recommendation letters from the Dayanim of Breslau: Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Leib Fedder; disciple of Rabbi Akiva Eiger and author of Ometz Yosef and Yosef Ometz, and Rabbi Pinchas son of Rabbi Yehuda Lieberman; leader of the Lipziger Kloiz in Breslau.
Rabbi Gedalya Tiktin was the son of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Tiktin, Av Beis Din of Breslau, and grandson of Rabbi Avraham Tiktin, previous Av Beis Din of Breslau and author of Pesach Habayis. Rabbi Gedalya took the reins of the rabbinate following his father's passing and served as Rabbi of Breslau for 43 years.
