Womens’ Machzor with an Impressive embroidered Binding, Woven with Silver Threads, 1626

A women’s machzor according to the custom of Rome – Part two. It includes slichos for the month of Elul, Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Sukkos prayers.

Printed in Venice, 1626 it is bound in part material and part green leather. The cover is decorated with delicate artistic embroidery made of silver threads and an iron closure.

Women’s binding from such an early period is exceedingly rare.
