הערכה: $20,000 - $30,000
Seder Brachos V'Tefillos: Prayers and blessings, including Perek Shira, written and illustrated on parchment by the renowned scribe and illustrator Meshulam Zimmel of Polna.
The compendium was written along 61 pages of parchment and is 6.6 x 8 cm in size. It includes eleven miniature illustrations and another ten decorated opening letters. Written in square font with nekudos, the Halachos and instructions are written in German-Yiddish in Hebrew script.
Condition: The manuscript was used extensively resulting in faded and smudged ink blots and obliterations on more than a few of the drawings, yet several drawings and most of the the text remain complete. Pages 58 – 59 were added later and are unrelated to the original handwriting.
The handwriting does not include a colophon (perhaps lacking) nor the name of the illustrator. However, it is evident from the drawings and writings that this is a work of the famed Zimmel as it is identical to other artworks of his. See for example Sotheby's NY December 2004, lot # 42.

Meshulem Zimmel of Palin was one of the greatest scribes and illustrators of 18th century Austria.
