A handwritten letter written by Rabbi Eliezer Hager to Rabbi Shmuel Hacohen Greenberger, Rabbi of Tchernovitz.
In it, Rabbi Eliezer thanks Rabbi Greenberger for his collaboration in encouraging Shabbos observance amongst youth.
This letter, dated 1929, is entirely handwritten by Rabbi Eliezer on his personal stationary.
Rabbi Eliezer Hager (1891 – 1946) was the son of the Ahavas Yisrael of Vizhnitz and author of Damesek Eliezer. He served as the Av Beis Din of Vizhnitz where he established a famous yeshivah. He miraculously fled to Eretz Yisrael in 1943 where he fell ill soon thereafter and passed away in 1946.
