Rare semicha written by Rabbi Yoav Yehoshua Weingarten known as the Chelkass Yoav ,regarding a man from Ostrovtza who had studied the laws of shechitah (slaughtering).
In the letter, Rabbi Weingarten attests that the man is deeply knowledgeable in the laws pertaining to shechita.
Rabbi Yoav yehoshua Weingarten (1845 – 1923) was the Av Beis Din of Kintzk and author of the sefer Chelkas Yoav. The name of the Chelkas Yoav serves as a symbol of erudiiton and sharpness.
