A letter of blessing and advice from Rabbi Yom Tov Teitelbaum, Av Beis Din of Sighet and author of Kedushas Yom Tov.
The letter is signed in Rabbi Teitelbaum’s handwriting.
The main part of the letter is advice to a water merchant advising him not to lower his prices as a result of new competition – "And my petition to Hashem, (that) He will send him salvation that he will not be able to harm him in all his borders and his water will appeal to the buyers and there will be many who will want it and He will bestow upon him an abundance of blessing and success and livelihood with abundance."
Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum (1836 – 1904) was Av Beis Din of Sighet and the author of Kedushas Yom Tov. He was the son of the Yitav Lev and father of Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum, author of Atzei Chaim, and of Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. He was one of the leading rabbinical leaders of Hungary and fought zealously against assimilation.
