Shu"t HaRivash is one of the Classic Halacha Sefarim . Nearly every responsum in this work is quoted by either theShulchan Aruch or Rema.
The Beis Yosef wrote, "We are disciples of the Rivash and drink from his waters. There is none as great as he. If only we would fully understand the depth of his teachings” (Shu"t Beis Yosef, Laws of Ksubos, Ch. 2).
The index pages contain many handwritten annotations by an early Sephardic Chacham, the title page features a signature of owner, Shlomo Zalman Lipshitz.
This work was sold up front to registered buyers. And every quire printed was then distributed in the synagogues to the buyers on Shabbos, which sparked an interesting halachic debate (see Hadfus Haivri BeKushta, pp. 103, 145.) Because of the way the sefer was printed and distributed, it’s extremely rare to find a complete copy of Shut HaRivash.
