One large double-sided leaf handwritten in the author’s beautiful, clear penmanship. The words of Levushei Srad surround Simlah Chadashah.
Rabbi Dovid Shlomo Eibeschutz (1755-1814) served as Av Beis Din in Sorka and thereafter settled in Tzefas in his latter years. He was a genius in both the Hidden and Revealed Torah, and his sefer Levushei Srad is one of the fundamental works on the laws of treifos.
Chassidic masters held Harav Dovid Shlomo Eibeschutz in high esteem, and the Apter Rav testified that Eliyahu Hanavi appeared to him. A righteous Torah scholar, he was renowned throughout the world for his piety and extraordinary breadth of knowledge. In his endorsement to Levushei Srad, the Kedushas Levi describes Rabbi David Shlomo as “Sharp and fluent in all areas of Torah…and all of his actions were for the sake of Heaven. He dove through deep waters to delve into the depths of Halacha." The Be’er Mayim Chaim likewise wrote: "The words of this sefer are the words of the Hidden Light, shining and glittering in every direction and corner”
His sefer Arvei Nachal, is one of the fundamental works of Chassdic thought.
