War Against Assimilation in the United States: Letter from Rabbi Eliezer Silber; Cincinnati, 1953

Letter from Rabbi Eliezer Silber, Av Beis Din of Cincinnati, regarding the organization of a committee intended to help fight against the assimilation occurring in the United States.
He writes: "…Organize a committee of Torah scholars who will study how to execute our decision, the manner and the tactic, how to warn against the assimilation and the manners of the proclamations, etc.”
Rabbi Eliezer suggests that specific rabbanim, including Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, Rabbi Aharon Kotler and the Admor of Satmar, be appointed to lead this committee.
As of today, more than 60% of American Jewry is assimilated.

Rabbi Eliezer Silber (1882 – 1967) was a leading American rabbi in his generation. He served as rabbi of Cincinnati for more than forty years and served as the head of the Agudas HaRabbonim. He was actively involved in saving European Jewry and raising the pride of Judaism and Torah in America.
