Letter of Endorsement from Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, AB”D of Slabodka; Chevron, 1929

Letter of endorsement for the Chevras Torah UTevuna who were looking to publish manuscripts and holy sefarim belonging to the Torah giants of previous generations.

Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein (1866 – 1934) was the Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of Slabodka-Chevron. He was a prominent Lithuanian Torah leader and one of the founders of the Lithuanian Agudas HaRabbanim. In 1923 he participated in the grand Agudas Yisrael convention that took place in Vienna and was one of the lead speakers there. He was selected to join the international Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. In 1929, Rabbi Moshe Mordechai transferred a large share of his yeshiva to the city of Chevron, Eretz Yisrael. During the Chevron Massacres of 1929, several of his yeshiva students were murdered. This took a heavy toll on Rabbi Moshe Mordechai’s health and led to his eventual passing.
Dated Chevron, 1929.
