A booklet on this subject matter was published along with the Ksav Sofer’s novellae on Niddah. However, the present manuscript is different and longer. This comprehensive booklet comprised of 19 long, handwritten pages, regards Chazaka D’Rabbah which is one of the deepest and most fundamental topics in Talmud.
Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer (1815 – 1871) was the renowned author of the Ksav Sofer. In the final days of the Chassam Sofer’s illness, he placed his hands upon his son and appointed him as his successor in the Pressburg rabbinate. He said: "Your grandfather Rabbi Akiva is upon your left, and your grandfather Rabbi Shmuel Schreiber is upon your left and the angel Ploni is upon your head, and I too will follow you and fulfill your words." The Ksav Sofer related that at the time, his father’s hands burned like wildfire.
The Ksav Sofer succeeded his father’s position at the young age of 24, carrying on his legacy. During his tenure, the Pressburg Yeshiva blossomed tremendously, to the point where the majority of Hungarian rabbis had studied by him. Rabbi Shimon Sofer, brother of the Ksav Sofer remarked: "He was the successor of our father in its entirety, and did not move from anything that was his tradition… His image hovered over him the entire day and the Divine spirit was within him, and the Hand of Hashem was evident in all of his actions…"
