Handwritten Approbation by Rabbi Akiva Fischer — Av Beit Din of Tat, the Chasam Sofer’s Disciple.
A letter of approval for the slaughter of poultry to one of his students, all in his handwriting and with his signature.
HaGaon Rabbi Akiva Fischer, Av Beit Din of Tat (circa 1818-1894), a disciple of the Chasam Sofer who studied from him for eight consecutive years and served him in his home (‘hoiz bochur’). Received smicha from the Chasam Sofer as a Rabbi and Moreh Hora’ah.
Rabbi Fischer was a prominent Hungarian Rabbi and served as the Rabbi of Tet for almost 50 years.
