Tikkun Leil Shavuos
Rabbi Moshe Shapira Press

Slavita, 1823

Tikkun Leil Shavuos and Hoshanah Rabbah based on the order of the Shl”a Hakadosh with the kavanos of the Holy Names as taught by the Arizal.

This Tikkun was printed by the Admor Rabbi Moshe Shapira, Av Beis Din of Slavita, son of the holy Admor Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz. The sefer is printed in large font on light blue paper, with the title page text in red ink. The last pages include the piyyut “Akdamos’ ‘ recited on Shavuos.
The title page verso contains the story of the miraculous revelation of the Maggid- angel to Rabbi Yosef Karo and Rabbi Shlomo Elkabetz (composer of Lecha Dodi) during their intense learning on the night of Shavuos.
This Tikkun Leil Shavuos was the personal copy of the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Friedman of Chortkov, grandson of the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov. His stamp appears on the margins of leaf 2a.
Slavita, 1823. 123, 1, 78 leaves. Page size: 20.3 cm. Title page margins professionally restored. Stained, but otherwise complete and in good condition. Original leather binding restored.

Printed by Tzaddikim
Sefarim printed by the legendary Shapira family, grandsons of the saintly Admor Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz, were sought after by tzaddikim and chassidim of their generation, and many specifically sought to pray from the siddurim and machzorim printed by such holy tzaddikim.

“Therefore, one should strive to purchase sefarim printed by G-d-fearing men, and especially from the Slavita and Zhitomir Presses [owned] by the Admor of Koritz’s grandchildren, who were exalted printers” (Taharas Hakodesh Ch. 6 by the Shomer Emunim).
