Fundamental work on the tradition of the torah text, including an explanation of the methodologies of the authors of Masoretic texts, by the famed Hebrew grammarian Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur Halevi Ashkenazy.
The Mesorah is an ancient resource and study tool used to preserve the precise text of Tanach.  renowned as the Baalei Hamesorah were Ben Asher and Ben Naftali. The Mesorah appears on the margins of many editions of Tanach.
In this work, Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur Ashkenazy clarifies all the fundamental elements of the mesorah. In a special chapter entitled Shaar Shivrei Luchos, he explains the unique markings, expressions and acronyms employed by the Baalei Hamesorah and presents a brief biography of the famed Baalei Hamesorah and summary of precise ancient Tanach texts (as Halleli).
Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur (1469-1549) was one of the greatest Hebrew grammarians of all times. He authored several fundamental works on Hebrew grammar among them the present Mesores Hamasores, Sefer Hatishbi and Sefer Meturgeman (also featured in this Catalog).
Rabbi Saadia Gaon’s famous poem upon the number of letters in the Torah was printed for the first time in the last pages of this work (p. 82-87).
